Dear Friends,
The "Friends Network" was established to bring the BBS community closer
together, through a friendly network atmosphere. Unlike most larger
Networks, "Friends" is easy going, and family orientated. You won't get
lost in the shuffle here at "Friends".
If you are operating a Bulletin Board System, and would like to join in
the fun, contact your nearest "Friends Hub" and ask for the latest
Friends Information Packet. Fill out the application and upload it in the
F-Admin Conference, or mail to:
Darby Research Systems.

Dear Friends
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Administration Staff of the Friends Net would like your help with
ideas or conferences that would benefit the membership of the Network.
If you have an idea or suggestion, please submit it in F-Admin.
Two new conferences have been added to the Friends Network.
1- Power-Basic - This will be a support conference
2- StarTrek , or a similar name - For all the Trekers
Friends has taken a piggy-back Network on, to be offered to all systems
that now carry the Friends Net. This Network is small in size, and is
just getting started.
Youthnet, or Youth Network will be available to all that wish to
participate. YouthNet will be sharing the F-Admin conference.
YouthNet is a youth orientated Net, and does have restrictions on age.
If you plan to pull the YouthNet, please notify: Jim Goss/ in F-Admin.
A summer get together is planned for sometime in June. The posting of
time and dates will be available soon. Watch for the announcement in
F-Chatter.

Letters to Administration:
Although there were not any letters last month, I will answer some of
the most commonly asked questions.
Q: I'm just a small BBS and have never handled Echo-Mail. Is it possible
for my system to get Friends?
A: Of course you can get the Friends Net. Friends is open to all that
meet the requirements as stated in the Network Regulations. Friends
is the perfect place for you to jump in and get your feet wet.
Q: I'm a Netmail system pulling other Networks through a downline BBS of
Darby Research. I can't really afford another Network at this time,
can I just pull the Echo-Central Conference.
A: You can pull Echo-Central under two conditions.
1. You are a Netmail system downline of Darby Research Systems.
2. You must prohibit Echo-Central from being distributed to your
users. Echo-Central is a Private NetMail Conference only.
Q: How will I know when conferences are added or deleted?
A: All NetMail Sysop's are encouraged to monitor Echo-Central for
changes made on the Network. When a conference is added or deleted
to a Network, the change will be posted in Echo-Central. It is your
responsibility as a Netmail Sysop to make conference changes to your
system as the occur.
Q: I'm a Netmail Sysop, but don't pull any networks downline from Darby
Research. I see Echo-Central posted on the Board that I pull from.
Can I just pull Echo-Central?
A: Absolutely Not! You must be a downline of Darby Research Systems to
gain access to Echo-Central.
